I love treating myself to a curly blow-dry. I received a couple of hair vouchers for Christmas this year and spent January and February visiting salons in Dublin.
First of all, it’s important to note none of these visits is adds or collaborations. I have not been gifted any vouchers from any of the companies mentioned below.
I simply want to share my experience of different hair salons I tried out in Dublin.
Peter Mark
Mary Street, Dublin
WAVY LOCKS €30
First time to Peter Mark Hair Salon and I decided to go for the wavy locks. Holly the stylist who was looking after me was friendly and warm. She listened to what I wanted and the curl stayed in my hair all weekend.
I love the massage chairs at the sinks and the bright and vibrant vibe to the salon.
The appointment lasted 30 minutes and I appreciated the level of detail Holly put into my hair. My hair jumps at the front and it’s very difficult to manage sometimes.
Holly showed me how to style the front to prevent the fringe from jumping and keeping my hair in place.
The hairdressers are close to the Jervis Shopping Centre and the red line Luas stop.
Salon Express
Tallaght, Dublin
CURLY BLOW-DRY €21.25
I wanted to try out a local hairdresser in my area and was delighted to come across Salon Express in Tallaght village.
I found the Salon through the hair and beauty app treat well.
Treat well is a budget-friendly app that compares the prices and reviews of some local salons in your area.
New customers receive a 15% discount code which brought my price down for €25 to €21.25.
Joanna who was looking after my appointment was friendly and spent over 40 minutes styling my hair.
I love how the curl turned out, I opted for the curly blow dry again over the GHD curls to compare against my appointment at Peter Mark.
When my hair was finished it looked amazing, I loved the bounce and volume of the curls.
However, as it was windy outside within the hour of leaving the salon my hair started to look limp and flat.
I backcombed my hair when I got home and brought the curl back to life.
Nice Salon in the heart of Tallaght village.
I like how affordable it is and the ease of getting a last-minute booking.
Avail Hair and Beauty
Rathcoole, County Dublin
WASH, CUT AND BLOW DRY €50.00
My go-to hair salon is Avail Hair and Beauty located in the stunning grounds of Avoca Rathcoole. The salon is gorgeous and has amazing views of the Dublin Mountains.
Veronica who was looking after my appointment was great and listened to how I wanted my hair to look and how much I’d like taking off.
She gave great advice and recommendations for shampooing and what products to use.
I went for a super sleek blow-dry this time. I liked my cut and blow-dry and how my hair lasted frizz-free all weekend.
Avail opens 11 am – 5 pm on a Sunday which is handy for me because the salon is quiet.
