The Cliff House Hotel is a 5 star privately owned luxurious Hotel located in Ardmore, a picturesque seaside and fishing village in County Waterford. The building overlooks Ardmore Bay and provides great views of the southern coastline of Ireland.
Ardmore is a very popular tourist destination and has recently been shortlisted as one of Ireland’s top tourist towns by Fáilte Ireland.
The village is around a long time and can be traced back to a Christian settlement that pre-dates St Patrick, with its proximity to nearby coastal resorts like Youghal, Co. Cork and busy towns like Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. It is very easy to see why Ardmore is one of Ireland’s most desirable holiday choices for families.
The stunning hotel has been open for business since the Thirties but was completely rebuilt and regenerated in 2008. The Cliff House Hotel prides itself on their first-class customer service and has earned the reputation for providing their guests “old world service delivered with characterful Irish warmth”
From the moment you enter the Cliff House Hotel, the staff are very friendly and immediately make you feel at home. There is a car valet service for residents staying at the Hotel, which is excellent as parking is tough to get in the area especially on the weekends. I was particularly impressed with the level of customer care from Dearbhla at the reception. After giving us a brief tour of the hotel she escorted us to our room and helped us with our bags.
Each of the 39 room and suites at the Cliff House Hotel have stunning sea views of the peaceful Ardmore bay. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the luxurious Terrace Suites, which included a super-size king bed, large rain forest shower, stone bath and toiletries by Anne Semonin and two terrace balconies with chairs and table.
The incredible views and scenery coupled with the luxurious rooms make this a very special hotel.
Dining at the Cliff House Hotel
The Award-winning, Michelin star restaurant at the Cliff House Hotel is well renowned and attracts visitors from all over the world. We had the pleasure of sampling the resident menu which offered 3 delicious courses. Breakfast is available in the morning up to 11 am, which allows guests to have an extra bit of time to enjoy the views and rooms in the mornings.
The Spa
The Well Spa offers a luxurious range of natural therapies that are inspired by the seaside atmosphere. The Well Spa is located so that you have a sea view to relax and unwind.
The Cliff House Hotel is the perfect mid-week getaway to escape from the hectic work schedule and indulge in some 5-star service. Relaxation is something the Cliff House provides in abundance but for the more active guests, there is also a huge range of activities available just steps outside the front door such as whale watching a beautiful Cliff walk that takes in the local beautiful scenery including the Round Towers and St. Declan’s well.
